From the reviews
I began attending Black Orchid a year or two ago because it is near my house and I needed some early morning classes to kick me into gear. It has been WONDERFUL. I started with the spin classes, which never fail to amp me up at 5:30am and give me just vast amounts of joy in attending and partaking.
I’ve been going to Black Orchid since 2017 when they first opened. I’ve tried every yoga studio across town and Black Orchid is hands down the best. I love that they offer something for everyone! Peter and Katie, the owners, are great humans and they put their all into their business.
Amazing. I’ve been to a few different yoga studios in town but none of them felt as welcoming as this one. I am happy to say I found my yoga home. This place welcomes all body types as well The mood in the studio is like no other, chic, cool, and very edgy. I’m obsessed. This is the yoga studio you NEED TO GO TO!
I absolutely love everything about this place! The staff is so warm and welcoming and the owners are so much fun! I always leave with a smile on my face and I can't say enough nice things about this place, even the people taking the classes are all awesome! You guys go the extra mile!
Teacher training at Black Orchid Yoga | Cycle
Black Orchid Yoga | Cycle comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Black Orchid Yoga | Cycle
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
