From the reviews
I’ve been going to This studio since it opened over five years ago. Courtney has created an amazing community space with so many different class choices and incredible instructors. You feel the welcoming vibe the minute you show up.
This is one of the best barre studios that I've been too. A lot of barre places try to make their classes overcomplicated and make you do advanced moves that are either not accessible strength-wise or technique-wise.
I absolutely love CA Yoga Barre. I was looking for an alternative to weight lifting to keep up muscle tone and regain some flexibility, so I signed up at the end of July for the unlimited monthly membership to start taking Barre classes to stay on track with my fitness plan and do something new.
I started my yoga/barre journey six months ago at this top notch studio and I have only tremendous praise for this small business. The owner Courtney hires instructors of varying expertise and styles aimed at targeting clients of all ages and skill level. The classes are fun, and never predictable.
Teacher training at CA Yoga Barre
CA Yoga Barre comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at CA Yoga Barre
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated to around ~95°F, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
