From the reviews
This studio has helped change my life! I tried other studios but didn't feel as comfortable as I feel here. The teachers are excellent and definitely passionate about what they do. Music is carefully curated for each class and every teacher has a soothing and unique style.
The best yoga studio! The classes are great for all skill levels and the atmosphere is relaxing and comforting. I enjoy all the teachers and can trust that they will always watch my form and give positive feedback when needed. The owner Julie Cook is well respected and really believes in her clients.
I would absolutely give this yoga studio five stars. The instructors truly go above and beyond—they are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely care about helping each person get the most out of their practice.
Very welcoming environment! The only yoga studio (in my 7 years of experience) that can effortlessly cater to the needs of anyone who walks in the door. If you’re like me, regular hot vinyasa is becoming boring. Other teachers use the same script.
Teacher training at Empower Yoga
Empower Yoga comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Empower Yoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
