From the reviews
I first came here because a friend gave me a gift pass—and honestly, I wish I had discovered this studio much sooner! I was lucky that my very first class was with Stephanie, and she completely won me over. Now, taking her classes has become one of the highlights of my daily routine.
I have tried out a couple of yoga places in this area, and extend yoga is by far the best and most affordable. I love it how their classes are only 1 hr long. Their instructors are also outstanding. At other places I felt the ‘corporate exercise’ vibe.
I did a 2 week trial and was impressed by the instructors. Several of them seemed to have a dance background. The flow style had a fluid, dance-like quality with very precise guidance on body alignment.
Extend Yoga is absolutely incredible. Every single member of the team for the studio, from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, is warm, welcoming, kind, inclusive, and delightful. The classes are a phenomenal mix of styles, and every single teacher offers something different.
Teacher training at extendYoga
extendYoga comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at extendYoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
