From the reviews
I've had a great time so far at this studio. As a complete beginner, it's been very accessible, especially if you are used to doing other kinds of fitness activities that can be abrasive to the body but haven't done much to try to improve flexibility and bodily awareness.
"I like Hot Yoga THIS much!" "Styyyyyx... Pay attention! It's palms down to start." Studio owner Gerardo Nelson Candolino is a very thoughtful and experienced teacher, you'll find him teaching the genuine 26/2 experience in a standard 90 minute session.
They offer an amazing assortment of classes - introductory yoga classes, HITT/Pilates, Vinyasa. Gerardo (owner) and the other instructors are all amazing and very welcoming. Don't let the "hot" (and yes it gets very warm in class) aspect deter you - you'll come out of class feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Great yoga studio. Clean, well organized facility and friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Even though I’m a beginner, I found the class easy to follow thanks to the coaching. Wonderful addition to the west philly community.
Your first hot yoga class at Hot Yoga Sutra Philadelphia
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
