From the reviews

I am a professional athlete and have been doing yoga on and off for years. Mainly out of state but have now lived in Illinois the last 5-6 years and I am so happy to have came across Melt Pilates & Hot Yoga! My first class was with Agnes.

I have been and will continue with Pilates and Boxing/kickboxing classes here. Pilates package for $250 for 10 classes on the reformer. Which may sound expensive but in reality it's not. Most places as I compare to other studios for the reformer only is an average of 30-35$.

I have been to yoga all over the country, through traveling and different places I’ve lived…and Melt is BY FAR the best studio I’ve been to. I’m currently a CA resident home for the holidays but I knew I had to get back to my favorite studio!!! The flows each teacher runs are challenging yet so intentional.

I have been coming to melt for 3 years, and cannot get enough of this studio. The owner, Shannon is amazing. She is so knowledgeable and creates such a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who steps into the studio. There are new classes always being offered to keep things fresh and interesting.

Teacher training at Melt Pilates & Hot yoga

Melt Pilates & Hot yoga comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.

Your first hot yoga class at Melt Pilates & Hot yoga

Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Heat and intense exercise aren't right for everyone — if you're pregnant or have heart, blood-pressure, or other health concerns, check with a doctor before your first hot class.
