The styles they teach
“Classes follow typical sun A sun B rotations, power flow means it gets speedy, and slow flow feels like a reg vinyasa at other places to me.”
“The classes are mostly for all levels and the instructors are wonderful with reminding you that the practice is yours, and to take what you need.”

From the reviews
Monarch Yoga is hands-down my favorite yoga studio in Philadelphia! Now that they’ve opened a location closer to my home in NoLibs, I’m even more thrilled to be a regular. I’ve tried several studios in the area, but none compare to the atmosphere and quality of classes at Monarch Yoga.
beautiful space to practice yoga! 🩵 i definitely recommend arriving at least 10 min early, as you need to check in before class and may want to fill up your water, get a towel, and grab a block or two. classes start on time and doors lock 5 min after they start!
This studio is first and foremost incredibly modern, spacious, and beautiful! I was so pleased how comfortable I felt in the studio with the natural lighting and amble personal space around me. The instructor was fabulous and I really haven’t had such a great yoga class in so long.
Monarch Yoga is a true gem in the city. I haven’t always found it easy to find a yoga studio that feels truly welcoming and judgement-free, but that’s very much the vibe at Monarch. Every teacher I’ve taken a class with (at both locations!
Teacher training at Monarch Yoga - Northern Liberties
Monarch Yoga - Northern Liberties comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Monarch Yoga - Northern Liberties
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
