From the reviews

I’ve been coming to Tangerine Yoga for a while now, and what stands out the most to me is their strong sense of community. It feels so different from other studios when the owner, Laura, remembers your name after just one or two visits — it’s warm, personal, and truly special.

the yoga studio i was desperate to find! i moved to new york 8 months ago and have been on the hunt for a new studio to join ever since. i’ve tried multiple spots in brooklyn and Tangerine is by far my favorite.

Atmosphere is so calming and wonderful. It seems like the community is quite tight knit, and the students and instructors mingle together. They provided mats and towels, and our instructor Liz was fantastic at leading the Tangerine Flow class. Would love to return for more sessions in the future.

★★★★★ — Sandra, Aug 2024

Laura from Tangerine is simply the best! As someone with MS that never did yoga, I didn’t know what the best studio would be for my needs, especially since I knew I wanted at-home sessions.

Your first hot yoga class at Tangerine Yoga

Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated to around ~95°F, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Heat and intense exercise aren't right for everyone — if you're pregnant or have heart, blood-pressure, or other health concerns, check with a doctor before your first hot class.
