From the reviews
I was in town visiting from Houston and never visited a facility like this. I was extremely impressed and wish we had this kind of environment at a workout facility in Houston. I was greeted as I walking in, I was still in the parking lot when the owner said "Are you going to show them how its done.
I broke my shoulder in DEC and am just getting back to the hot studio. Latoya greeted me with a warm smile and took the time to show me adjustments to try before for the U-60 class started & kept an eye on me during the session. I felt cared for and appreciated her looking out for me.
Thousands of yoga classes from hundreds of teachers at dozens of studios across four continents in three different launguages leads to me to say this place is legit. I took the hot 90 the dialogue was spot on and the facilities well tended to.
The Union is not just a place for physical growth and wellness. It also helps you grow mentally through workshops and classes. In addition to The Union members and coaches are now family and life long friends.
Your first hot yoga class at The Union: Fitness & Fun, Alamo Heights
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
