From the reviews
I had a great experience at BYWL last night! I'm new to Chicago and have been teaching and practicing at a studio across town and hadn't had the chance to check out BYWL. As a 14 year Bikram Yoga practitioner I've practiced and taught classes in dozens of hot yoga studios. BYWL is definitely one of the best.
I have been practicing at West Loop Bikram now for over two years. I remember walking in and being pretty intimidated with the idea of practicing Bikram, but I was greeted so warmly and welcomed into this studio in such a nurturing and caring manner, my intimidation quickly melted away.
I love this studio! I took a break for a few years and restarted my yoga practice a couple months ago. It’s the best thing you can do for your health & an excellent way to start the day or get back into a healthy routine :) The instructors are very nice, knowledgeable, and help you through the classes.
Bikram Yoga Chicago West Loop is the most consistent hot yoga studio in the city for 90 minute classes 3X day with the original dialogue, which I prefer. The studio and shower facilities are spacious and clean. The teachers are absolutely first-rate!!!
Your first hot yoga class at West Loop Yoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated to around ~105°F, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel (or rent them here), water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
