I’ve been going to Bija since its inception, and I practiced with the owner, Chanel, for several years before she opened Bija! I’m a yoga teacher myself and I’ve been practicing for 25 years. I was raised up by the best in Arizona, so I’m very selective about who I practice under!

★★★★★ — Rachel, Aug 2024

I have been going to Bija for about 6 months now. I originally joined because the prior studio I was going to didn't have enough classes. Bija has several classes in the mornings which provides me with the flexibility I need.

★★★★★ — Brent, Jul 2024

Plus size, beginner review!!! I have now been practicing at the studio for three months, it has been nothing short of extraordinary. The place is so clean and everyone is so nice. The instructors are phenomenal and always giving you options for adjustments for what your body can do.

Your first hot yoga class at Bija Yoga and Wellness

Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes — there are showers on site; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Heat and intense exercise aren't right for everyone — if you're pregnant or have heart, blood-pressure, or other health concerns, check with a doctor before your first hot class.
