From the reviews
I don’t normally post reviews, but after my Hot Mat Pilates class with instructor, Grace L., I feel compelled. First, upon entering the energy was so upbeat and welcoming. The studio was clean organized and honestly just beautiful. The locker room was so well appointed. And the studio itself is amazing!!!
Amazing experience! First class and it was a challenge one. It was fun, difficult, humbling, and satisfying being able to test my limits and being encouraged to listen to my body by the instructor Allison. Very motivating and inspiring. Will continue and excited to track my progress for myself!
Hot Pilates at Body Alive is next level. The studio has such an energizing, welcoming vibe and the heat makes every workout feel ten times more effective. The instructors are motivating without being intimidating, give great cues, and really push you while still offering modifications.
I love BA so much! The instructors are phenomenal and make a really welcoming, high-energy environment. I had not done hot pilates before trying BA, and it’s been an amazing way to lose weight and feel stronger. It’s affordable too — I don’t know of any other fitness studio with classes under $10.
Teacher training at Body Alive Clifton
Body Alive Clifton comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Body Alive Clifton
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
