From the reviews
Body Alive is such a fantastic studio! I first went through ClassPass, and now one of my friends is so hooked she wants to get a full membership. Every instructor has their own flavor so you get the opportunity to pick a favorite, there is a variety of class times, and there’s plenty of space to get ready and change…
I had a great first experience at Body Alive! The registration, check in, and overall process were straightforward. The class was full and high energy. The instructor did a great job of encouraging us and allowing us to take a break or modify, as needed.
I cannot express how much I love Body Alive. Ive attended both the Polaris and Upper Arlington locations--the hiring, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere are amazing. I come after work and getting greeted by the sweetest girls ever is def a highlight in my day.
Lulu’s Hot Mat Pilates class was comprehensive and had seamless transitions. Her playlist was also a good speed. The physical hot room had plenty of space so it didn’t feel like we were on top of each other during the class.
Teacher training at Body Alive Upper Arlington
Body Alive Upper Arlington comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Body Alive Upper Arlington
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
