From the reviews
Absolutely an amazing place! My wife and I love it here. The community is wonderfully joyous. The teachers are all great. They have an array of classes from the traditional bikram yoga to Pilates to mixed tapes to all kinds of pop ups. A great workout with great people. What could be better!
I have been doing hot yoga on and off for over 25 years and Funky Door studio is amazing. In addition to the traditional 26-posture, 90-minute hot yoga class, they offer a variety of other fun and energetic classes such as hot pilates which feels like high interval training in a heated room with funky music to keep…
I love this yoga studio. If feels very new and clean with a padded floor that is comfortable while still providing support for balancing postures. The studio provides lockers, complimentary locks, dressing rooms with showers and has an assortment of drinks available.
I have been going to Funky door since they reopened in 2021 and I just LOVE the studio. The teachers, staff, and community is amazing. The teachers are strong and knowledgeable.
Teacher training at Funky Door Yoga
Funky Door Yoga comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Funky Door Yoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
