From the reviews
Absolutely love this hot Pilates and yoga studio! The instructors, especially Suzanne, Christine, and Theresa, are incredible. They bring so much energy and motivation to every class while also being incredibly supportive of your individual needs and modifications.
I have been practicing at HYW Bayport for over 7 years. It is an amazing studio that offers a variety of classes and instructors who are educated, professional and extremely helpful with modifications due to injuries. There is no judgment in the room, everyone is encouraged to focus on their personal best for the day.
I have been going to the Bayport studio for some time now. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to escape and get in shape!!!!
While traveling to visit family I attended classes at both Setauket and Bayport locations. I generally practice at a strong Ghosh studio that is 26&2/Hatha but works against a lot of the problematic Bikram dialogue. I am skeptical to try more traditional Bikram studios because of this but I felt right at home here.
Your first hot yoga class at Hot Yoga Works Bayport
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
