From the reviews
I love this place!!! Right behind the Kirklin Clinic in the middle of 5th Ave., S, HotWorx is Brand New Chic Hot Studio for all kinds of workouts!! Hot Yoga, Hot cycle, and Hot Band Resistance, each workout is in its own little InfraRed Sauna Room (mine was set at 125 degrees.).
Simply put, everything about this place is amazing. Not only are the workouts intense and enjoyable, but the variety of the classes offered and the convenience of 24/7 access to said classes put Hotworx above the rest. My favorite one I’ve tried is the hot warrior.
No, Hotworx is much hotter than Bikram Yoga. You can adjust the temperature and volume in each sauna. I prefer 115-120°F, but they recommend 120-125°F for the best results. There are usually 6 saunas, but machines are in the last two saunas. The first four offer 40-minute isometeic sessions.
On my first visit, Jen & Joe were super friendly and showed my cousin and I around the studio before our session. The saunas are extremely clean and we both really enjoyed the sweaty work out! It was over before we knew it. I am excited to explore Hotworx in other cities since their membership includes a ton of states.
Your first hot yoga class at HOTWORX - Birmingham, AL (Midtown)
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
