I'm from out of town and was looking for a hot yoga class to take while in Reno. I ended up taking Stitch's 90 min Bikram Pure Beginner's hot and LOVED it! The instruction was great - disciplined, warm, and clear. Upon arrival, the front desk greeted me by name and made me feel very comfortable.
My sister-in-law and I were visiting from a low altitude/high humidity area, so we underestimated how long it would take us to jog the 2 miles to the studio. We ended up making it literally right at class start time, and asked if it was too late for us to drop in for the session, totally assuming we had missed our…
LOVE! Variety of classes suitable for all fitness levels. Clean! Knowledgeable, professional staff. Reasonably priced. Annnnnd has helped me lose 25 pounds (and counting!) 🧘♀️💜💪
This is a really nice studio. The hot yoga is rigorous, and not for everyone, but it's absolutely worth a try (two weeks for $20 for newbies). They also have some really nice warm yin classes. My favorite instructor is Christine who teaches hot yoga and yin, and just radiates warmth, sincerity, and calm.
Teacher training at Juice Box Yoga South Reno
Juice Box Yoga South Reno comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Juice Box Yoga South Reno
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
