From the reviews
Khali Yoga captured my heart way before I moved here to Charlotte with my family. After traveling cross country with a moving truck - I made sure to stop at the studio the following morning we had arrived just to ground and recenter myself.
I'm not an experienced in yoga, I go once in a while but wouldn't consider myself confident in a studio. I've gone to 3 hot vinyasa classes at Khali and I'm really enjoying it. The app is really easy to use, the entry space has a good flow, there is plenty of room to come in and get settled before class.
I cannot recommend Khali enough! It has become a very special place in my life and the community and expertise is next level. For example, I injured my back during class (100% my own fault) and the instructor, Chris, provided me with modifications to help.
The most beautiful shala in Charlotte! While practicing at this gorgeous space, you almost feel transported to India or Thailand. All the instructors and staff are super friendly and welcoming. I especially appreciate the NO Technology or Devices rule in the practice space.
Teacher training at Khali Yoga Center
Khali Yoga Center comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Khali Yoga Center
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel (or rent them here), water, and a change of clothes — there are showers on site; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
