From the reviews
I've been taking TRX classes at LPY for a few months and really love it! Instructor Elaine is great! She always come prepared with a variety exercises to make the classes fun and keep us engaged and challenged.
I have been going to LPY for years. I love the studio and its management team who are also excellent yoga teachers. I find a lot of variety in the classes. Yoga, of course, but also TRX with Elaine - her classes are challenging and a real workout with several series of exercises that keep changing at each session-,…
I love Elaine's TRX and Barre classes at LPY. I've taken many different classes here and at other places. She's my favorite. A great instructor who understands how the body works and moves. She makes you work which is what I need.
LPY is a great studio with a variety of classes and great instructors. I recommend trying one of Elaine’s TRX classes. You work hard and have fun with the positive energy she brings every class motivating you to get stronger.
Teacher training at LPY Yoga & Barre
LPY Yoga & Barre comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at LPY Yoga & Barre
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
