From the reviews

What an amazing class! I have looked at classes at Magnolia for years now without ever actually attending since I am out of practice and didn't want to embarrass myself. I finally went last night and I am grateful I did. Ajax was so welcoming, kind, and patient -- I really enjoyed her class!

★★★★★ — Cortney, Apr 2022

Beautiful studio, well spoken and challenging instructors, and kind and responsive owner. Magnolia Yoga Studio is one of my favorite charms or New Orleans. As I guest in this town for the next few weeks, the owner Ajax made signing up for classes simple and the vibes were so welcoming in her studio!

★★★★★ — Laura, Feb 2022

I’ve been practicing the 26/2 series with Ajax for well over 10 years; in fact, I followed her from another studio to Magnolia because I loved her classes the most— for her openness, knowledge and authenticity. As much as possible, I try to support small, local businesses.

★★★★★ — Kate, Sep 2024

I attended the New Years Day class at Hotel Peter and Paul and had a wonderful experience overall. The event space, a former cathedral, was gorgeous and the community that the studio owner Ajax and Magnolia cultivated was warm and welcoming.

Your first hot yoga class at Magnolia Yoga Studio

Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel (or rent them here), water, and a change of clothes — there are showers on site; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Heat and intense exercise aren't right for everyone — if you're pregnant or have heart, blood-pressure, or other health concerns, check with a doctor before your first hot class.
