The styles they teach
“We did the Hot Power Sculpt class, and although I've never taken an actual yoga class, it was fantastic and very similar to a Barre class that I take with my trainer.”

From the reviews
I wrote this last year, Wanted to update - All still holds true a year later and her desire to help us all during the shelter in place rules even speaks more of the team at PPY. The best yoga studio in years. Thanks Sherry for your vision and for the great teachers you have.
I recently started attending classes at Power Performance Yoga in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! One of the first things I noticed was the ample parking available, which made getting to class stress-free.
Loved this studio. A friend and I decided to take a 30 minute class during their open house today to celebrate their anniversary. It was amazing! We did the Hot Power Sculpt class, and although I've never taken an actual yoga class, it was fantastic and very similar to a Barre class that I take with my trainer.
I absolutely LOVE this studio! I have always been a gym freak and never thought I would do yoga. I signed up for the 30 for $30 and went literally every day and have become a yogi! It is like I have another family. Instructors are extremely nice and really care about you and your practice.
Teacher training at Performance Power Yoga and Pilates
Performance Power Yoga and Pilates comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Performance Power Yoga and Pilates
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated to around ~93°F, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
