From the reviews
I took my first ever yoga class here at Shefayoga, and it was a Heated Power Vinyasa with the instructor Aili. It was definitely a bit challenging, but the feeling after completing the class is so great.
I've been practicing yoga for 25 years, so I'm quite picky about my teachers and studios, and I just renewed my annual membership at Shefa. The teachers are wonderful - many are quite experienced and offer challenging classes that are approachable for someone newer to yoga (I've brought a lot of friends to the studio…
Took Sylvia's Power Vinyasa this morning, and she was a very informative and effective instructor. The space was clean, and check-in was super easy! The first part of class featured an efficient and dynamic warm-up, followed by a powerful flow series.
I had a wonderful experience at shefayoga taking Ferrah’s Heated Power Vinyassa. The new student check-in and signing process was simple and quick, easy access lockers, and the studio is incredibly clean and secure. The class itself was just what I needed to wake up and get grounded for the day.
Teacher training at Shefayoga Roosevelt
Shefayoga Roosevelt comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Shefayoga Roosevelt
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel (or rent them here), water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
