From the reviews
The community at Twist Yoga is super supportive and makes going to stretch in community something I truly look forward to as a high point of my week. They have a great variety of classes with teachers that are kind, inspirational, and encouraging.
All of the yoga instructors here are amazing including the owner Jennifer. They are all so warm, friendly and best in class instructors. I love the holistic approach that is encouraged here to not just work out your body, but to also focus on your mind and spirit in a positive way.
I love this studio! I started off just wanting to do the 3 week trial but this place is the real deal. Everyone who teaches there is so good! There are so many different classes to choose from and the teachers are all so kind and welcoming. It’s one of those places that if you try out you’re going to wanna stay.
This is the best community studio I have come across in my 35 years of practicing yoga! The classes are so well taught, and the owner makes a personal connection to new students through a 1:1 session.
Teacher training at Twist Yoga and Pilates Studio Lake Oswego
Twist Yoga and Pilates Studio Lake Oswego comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Twist Yoga and Pilates Studio Lake Oswego
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
