The styles they teach
“I’ve practiced “yin” and “restorative” yoga at other studios and the Raja classes go far beyond what I’ve experienced elsewhere over the past 20 years of practicing.”
What's on offer
“I am currently enrolled in the Hatha YTT and am truly engaged by the approach to learning here.”
What students say again and again
“In hot yoga, sweat is expected, and the Shala is clear about bringing a large towel—both to minimize impact on others and to clean your space afterward.”
“This is a practice, a community, and a school that I’m deeply grateful to have in my life.”
“:) If you're looking for a strong but gentle intro or re-entry into yoga, I highly recommend Hatha to Raja with Michelle Rasner-Cash, one of my favorites!”
From the reviews
Once I arrived the person in the front was very nice, the yoga instructor introduced himself before the class very nicely, and the class experience was a 10/10. I went to Anuttara Raj with Philip and the class was amazing in all senses.
A traditional studio with a stylish twist. This place resembles a church, yoga school, and modern resort all in one! Philip is a master at what he does and the Anuttara style is unlike any other yoga class. It’s challenging for the mind, body and spirit. You HAVE to try a class if you’re in the area!
I had a very exhilarating aerial yoga class with Michelle today, leaving me feeling refreshed, liberated, and full of joy. She’s a fantastic instructor, offering thoughtful guidance to everyone, regardless of their experience or skill level.
Amazing!!! This is the best place to get a real understanding of YOGA. Not just asana, but YOGA. It is unique, and there are rules to follow, but yoga is a discipline and learning that is part of the practice.
Teacher training at Anuttara Yoga Ft. Lauderdale
Anuttara Yoga Ft. Lauderdale comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Anuttara Yoga Ft. Lauderdale
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
