From the reviews
From the moment you walk in, you can feel that this studio is built with intention, care, and heart. Amanda Mendez, the owner, is absolutely incredible—not only as an instructor herself, but as someone who consistently brings together some of the best yoga teachers I’ve ever practiced with!
Great instructor – easy to follow & hear, clear instructions, positive energy, supportive! Great positive community vibe in class. Clean studio, easy parking and reasonable pricing!
I’ve practiced yoga in Boise for years, and I can honestly say that Authentic Yoga Idaho is the most welcoming, grounded, and genuinely healing studio I have ever walked into. I came to this studio during a time when I truly needed a place to land, to breathe, and to rebuild.
We love all the classes, instructors, and the welcoming atmosphere fostered by the owner, Amanda, at Authentic Yoga. We have a special fondness for Scott and Sarah, who teach the 26x2 Bikram-style hot yoga.
Teacher training at Authentic Yoga Studio
Authentic Yoga Studio comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Authentic Yoga Studio
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel (or rent them here), water, and a change of clothes — there are showers on site; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
