From the reviews
True North is one of my favorite yoga studios in Boise! Friendly staff, variety of classes and very affordable. My favorite thing about True North is their spring/summer yoga in the park series. Camel’s Back is one of my favorite parks so being able to do my practice out there is ideal.
I attended the resilience and well-being, immersion training put on by true North Yoga by Paul and Ted. This is a must do class, and fun, funny and informative superpower class that everyone can benefit from. They should be teaching this to all students everywhere now.
Today I took a hot flow class with Christine Moch! It was perfect. From the sound of her voice to the organized flow of the class. Her pace and style is just what I needed. I have been teaching and taking yoga classes for the last 20 years and am happy to say Christine is special. Thank you and I’ll see you again.
I just recently started going to True North. I am very new to yoga and was worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up, but the classes flow so nicely and the instructors are incredible. I’ve loved every class that I’ve attended and I look forward to going to more! I highly recommend. Very welcoming to everyone!
Teacher training at True North Yoga
True North Yoga comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at True North Yoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated to around ~100°F, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
