From the reviews
Coming from a CrossFit background yoga has been a different pace for me. I have only attended a couple classes so far, but Amanda (instructor/owner) has been so welcoming and kind and put me at ease. I’ve done 2 hot yoga classes ever and was a little nervous due to my previous experience.
The early morning classes with Whitney offers an opportunity to begin the day with gratitude and intention while practicing a class of Power. The heated studio welcomes all ability levels, with wonderfully guided practices accompanied by creative sequences topped with complimentary music.
Both of the classes I have attended so far have been excellent. Everyone was warm and welcoming so I had no awkward feeling joining in. I am just getting back to yoga practice after a several year hiatus. The classes were challenging and I was able pause and join back in as needed.
I have been going to Authentic for just a little bit and I love everything about it! From the warm greeting when I walk in the door to the awesome instructors I have had! They are very patient and encouraging! Sean is such a great instructor! Im not very graceful or as young as some but that doesn't seem to matter.
Teacher training at Authentic Yoga Studio
Authentic Yoga Studio comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Authentic Yoga Studio
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel (or rent them here), water, and a change of clothes — there are showers on site; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
