From the reviews
By far my favorite yoga studio in the capital district! They offer a wide variety of classes to match your mood. The teachers are consistent, knowledgeable and professional. You can really feel a sense of community upon walking in. I find myself looking forward to going back before I even leave the parking lot.
Love this place because of the instructors, the facility itself (very nice locker rooms too), and class variety. I went regularly pre-pandemic and now they are requiring everyone to be vaccinated so masks aren't required. Which I absolutely love so much I just resumed my full membership.
First Pilates experience with Michelle today for a nearly 60 yo back. Michele led the session with great skill and enthusiasm. Highly recommended for those looking to strengthen one’s core. Already looking forward to my next session.
This is my favorite yoga studio in the capital district! The facility is spacious and clean (they have locker rooms with showers, nice bathrooms, two studios, etc), the teachers are friendly and knowledgeable, the prices are reasonable, and the classes are always invigorating.
Teacher training at Studio 4
Studio 4 comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Studio 4
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
