From the reviews
I love SunState Yoga! It’s my favorite yoga studio in St. Pete. I tried their intro special (one month unlimited), and then ended up coming literally every day. So obsessed with their hot power flow! The owner & all the yoga teachers are extremely friendly, and I’ve made some of my best friends in St.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Perfect LOCAL Yoga Studio for Everyone! When I first started at Sunstate Yoga, I wasn’t a yogi—I was more of a sports-athlete, gym-goer who needed to focus on recovery and stretching. A friend recommended this studio to me, and I quickly saw why—it’s truly something special!
This studio has become my home studio and I have been to most of the studios in town. (they are all good but this one is awesome)!! The community vibe is great, lots of class times to choose from. The classes are well rounded and the studio temp perfect.
Beautiful space and beautiful people! Always feels very clean and welcoming! Love the variety of classes they offer too. 10/10 recommend! Update: I just took Anna's 8pm yin class and WOW. It was the most nourishing yoga class I think I've ever taken.
Teacher training at SunState Yoga
SunState Yoga comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at SunState Yoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
