From the reviews
I have attended this studio for over a year. I love that each instructor offers a different way of living Yoga. Without a doubt Karen Fox is the best, if you like challenges you will really enjoy her class, students of all levels are always welcome, but you advance at your own pace without pressure.
This is my favorite yoga studio with my favorite instructors. I came across hot yoga 10 years ago and have never looked back. I have taken classes in other states (even yoga teacher training) and different styles and this is by far the best style class you’ll find.
I stumbled upon this studio. It is a Kest style yoga that is taught & delivered fantastically. Every yoga instructor that I have taken from has been so excellent. Each one brings their own personality to their class & their flows intelligent and well sequenced.
Steph's Best: Fitness Edition! Karen Fox’s airy new stand-alone spot in a renovated bank space within Merchant’s Square. Catherine’s flow was slow and thoughtful, with beautiful cooling lavender scented towels for a heavenly finish. On the other hand, Hot Mat Pilates (Express!
Teacher training at The Yoga Studio - Carmel
The Yoga Studio - Carmel comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at The Yoga Studio - Carmel
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
