From the reviews
Such a wonderful studio! Amy and Megan put on a wonderful class for our community group. Everyone got a little taste of Nia, Barre, and Yoga, and had so much fun! We will be back!
I think this studio is great because the teachers are very skilled and teach diverse styles of yoga. It's not the sort of standard vinyasa flow you can find everywhere. You can take Prana Flow classes which is yoga flow with a pinch of Tai Chi fluidity to the movements.
As one of the few non-heated yoga studios in Fort Worth, I love coming here for a yoga class! Every teacher has their own vibe and special type of offering during their classes.
This is the best yoga studio!! They are so kind and helpful! It is important to feel a sense of community and you definitely will at this studio. Give them a chance to show you the beauty of what yoga and community can do for you!!!
Teacher training at Urban Yoga
Urban Yoga comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Urban Yoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
