From the reviews

A year ago, having not really exercised or worked out in public because of the pandemic, I googled “hot yoga near me” on a whim and took an impromptu class at y7 flatiron. I’ve been hooked ever since. I used to do bikram, but got tired of the repetitiveness.

Makayla crushed it. had such a lovely class. i was with my friend who has barely done yoga and definitely not done Y7. she LOVED! it!! I was so excited. Really was a perfect class to see what Y7 is all about!!

★★★★★ — Nina, Mar 2026

I have been going to Y7 for many years. As an instructor, it's where I go for my own practice. I love the format and heat and dark room with candles and no mirrors. Over the years I've encountered some very gifted instructors at Y7 who have helped me elevate my own personal practice and be a better instructor as well.

★★★★★ — Kicking, Dec 2024

I did enjoy the class. Great instructor and playlist. However, the class didn’t have the meditative and introspective aspect of yoga. The movements are yoga but I feel like it’s not embracing the core values of yoga. It is fun but if you’re looking for something peaceful and mindful, Y7 will not satisfy you.

Your first hot yoga class at Y7 Studio Flatiron

Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Heat and intense exercise aren't right for everyone — if you're pregnant or have heart, blood-pressure, or other health concerns, check with a doctor before your first hot class.
