From the reviews
Great atmosphere to practice yoga. All staff is friendly and extremely professional. It is a serious studio, so it's important to read the class information for your safety and to avoid being a disruption to other's experience/practice.
This was my first hot yoga class. I've tried yoga in the past & never felt like the instructor took time to equally balance instruction for beginners & experienced students. Crystal was clearly providing instruction for both throughout the session. The environment was comfortable.
Went with a friend who found a trial discount online. Had a two week trial, went three times. Greeted by a male who led class super friendly, explained every stretch and move and gave options for beginners. Really wanted to try hot yoga but didn't get the chance due to my schedule. Definitely recommend.
Just having moved to Vacaville from the Bay Area, it was my first time in this studio. Crystal was so warm and friendly, and is a great instructor. Lots of good instruction and positive, encouraging feedback. I will definitely come here regularly!
Teacher training at YogaMaya Studio
YogaMaya Studio comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at YogaMaya Studio
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
