From the reviews
I have been coming to this studio for well over a year and I can’t get enough. I specifically love Carolyn’s Power class. She is talented, creates challenging but meaningful flows, is hands on if you want it and has the best music and energy!
Tonight was my first studio yoga class ever and I couldn’t have picked a better studio/instructor. Since it was my first time practicing in a studio I was filled with nerves but upon entering Y6 I felt welcomed and right at home. Gillian was kind and informative and gave me a helpful tour of space.
May Update - Christine was amazing! She really challenged us to try things I didn’t think I could do…and I did some of them! Feeling a ton better after consistently practicing at YogaSix! Update- Another class with Dianne today and it was perfect. Just what I needed.
Pamela is an AMAZING yoga instructor. She educates the class on standard yoga poses and how to do them as beginner and more advanced. Her instruction has helped me to tweak my poses so they are more effective. She also shares what she is doing each class and the benefits.
Teacher training at YogaSix Mainline
YogaSix Mainline comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at YogaSix Mainline
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
