From the reviews
Amanda is an amazing teacher and soul, and my family and I feel blessed to be able to take her class and be welcomed to the community at Y6 Northfield. While I have not had the chance to take from every teacher yet, due to my schedule, all the teachers I have taken from so far are wonderful.
I absolutely love YogaSix. I have been coming here for about six weeks now, brand new to practicing. I thought about trying yoga for years, but was always nervous about going due to being plus size and out-of-shape.
Really lovely location. So far I’ve tried a variety of classes like hot yoga, sculpt, slow flow, and restorative. I’ve enjoyed each one to a varying degree depending on the class (I discovered I don’t like hot classes but I’m sensitive to heat), and consistent positives are the staff.
I took our first yoga class here with Tiff, It was the Y6101 class, It was fantastic. She's very patient, hands-on when providing correction. Will definitely take his class again and i joined as a members. it's been about 7 months now that we have been a member of yoga 6 and we absolutely love it.
Teacher training at YogaSix Northfield
YogaSix Northfield comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at YogaSix Northfield
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
