From the reviews
I really like the community here. I typically take the Beats N Power Flow class, but have also tried some Slow Flows as well. When I started attending classes here, I wasn't too excited about doing sequences that are typically the same each time because I worry about getting bored.
I’m grateful that I found Gateway Yoga a few years ago. It’s been one of the few things that have been somewhat constant in my life, through numerous ups and downs and growth. When I am unable to attend for a while, owners Brittnie and Beth always welcome me back. They have built a fabulous community!
I’ve been looking for a new yoga community since my local fave closed down (RIP Practicing Yoga). Saw a Facebook ad for their 6 week challenge and signed up in April. The challenge was fun, and I could feel improvements in my physical and mental well being within a couple weeks.
I am thrilled to have found this studio! Being relatively new to yoga- I am grateful for the guidance, patience and openness of the instructors and the entire community. Whether it is sweating in the studio or being amongst nature in Kirkwood park, I leave class physically and mentally recharged!!
Your first hot yoga class at Gateway Yoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
