From the reviews
There is so much joy met at every class, encouragement, laughter and love. The teachers are all incredible even the subs, every one have their own style and flow. A class for every pace, this studio has made me feel at home in every way.
I love coming to Greenwood Lake yoga! I’ve had amazing experiences with all of the instructors, I particularly love Alex and Shari’s teaching styles. Their monthly pass is so worth the money, and I find myself attending a class almost every day. The hot classes are also amazing.
Cozy, clean and personal studio several classes through out the week to choose from, perfect to drop in if spending the weekend in the quaint village of Greenwood Lake.. Favorite is 7 pm Candle light on Sunday.
When I heard Greenwood Lake Yoga has the Summer Program for Kids, I was so excited to send my kids to this program locally. My kids signed up for theater and paddle board classes, they really enjoyed the session and asked me why they were only signed up for one week and not the whole month😊.
Teacher training at Greenwood Lake Yoga
Greenwood Lake Yoga comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming an instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — most hot-yoga trainings are Yoga Alliance registered (RYT-200 or RYT-500), and the style matters: a Bikram or hot-power lineage trains differently than a hot-vinyasa or sculpt one. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — cohorts often run in intensive weekend blocks or over several months, and many studios want you practicing regularly there first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first hot yoga class at Greenwood Lake Yoga
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated to around ~90°F, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
