From the reviews
One of my favorite studios in East Bay with many great teachers who are knowledgable about safe practice for people with injuries, classes which are good for all levels, great atmosphere and cold towels soaked in lavender oil are a treat at the end.
I've been to several sessions now and I love this studio. The instructors are knowledgeable and cater their moves to various skill levels. Also, the studio is very clean. I only mention this because I have been to some bad ones in the Bay Area.
I’ve taken a lot of classes, and Ali’s is one of those rare ones that just works. First off: it’s fun. Not forced fun. Actual, genuine fun. One night she casually asks the class which animals in the animal kingdom are the friendliest… and which ones are the biggest jerks.
I've been attending classes with Allie since they opened and I absolutely love it. She makes things seem fun, even the hard stuff. The energy she gives off makes the (very clean and soothing) studio a safe space for everyone in there.
Your first hot yoga class at Yoga Amansala
Nervous about your first hot class? Almost everyone is, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: the room is heated, so it feels intense for the first few minutes — rest in child's pose any time you need to, no one will bat an eye. Hydrate: drink water through the day before class, not just as you arrive, and bring a bottle. What to bring: a mat and towel, water, and a change of clothes; wear something light you don't mind sweating through, and skip a heavy meal in the couple of hours beforehand. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and set up. It gets easier fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
